痴愛玉
Taitung CountyGuanshan TownshipDessert restaurant
A small hand-washed natural aiyu shop tucked into a Japanese wooden house; the plain version is refreshing, while the black-tea aiyu has a fuller tea aroma.
Signature Dishes
Just Aiyu (Pineapple Syrup)
The hand-washed aiyu is springy and tender, paired with simmered pineapple syrup and lemon juice for a sweet-tart, refreshing taste; adjust the syrup and lemon yourself, though one visit found it still slightly bland after all the original juices were added.
Lemon Black Tea Aiyu
Black tea is kneaded into the aiyu, which is shaped like a heart; it is actually a tea jelly rather than tea soup. Brown sugar and lemon juice can be adjusted to taste; its jelly texture differs from plain aiyu, and one experience preferred the plain version.
Hot Aiyu (Yuzu Tea Flavor)
On one occasion, the hot aiyu was offered in limited supply; it became smoother when warm, almost like a simmered dessert, with yuzu fragrance rising in the heat and a small cookie on the side.
