阿妹狗客家米食
Miaoli CountyShitan TownshipStore
A Hakka rice-food shop serving satisfying sweet and savory shuiban.
Signature Dishes
Shuiban (水粄)
The savory version comes with freshly stir-fried chives; a little chili suits stronger flavors. Soy sauce may make it watery toward the end, affecting the original texture. The sweet version has a light brown-sugar aroma and is not overly sweet.
Turnip Cake (蘿蔔糕)
Fragrant with radish and shredded-radish texture; more shredded radish would make it closer to a home-style version. It is pre-cut and packaged, and large orders can be reserved by phone.
Bowl Cake (碗糕)
Bowl cake paired with chives and radish; the overall flavor is very good.
Mugwort Guo (艾草粿)
The mugwort guo is tasty, but it is sold only as one large piece.
